Disney's Hollywood Studios

Hello, friends!! Well, it's day 2 of my wonderful Orlando, Florida vacation and not only is it the day that I decided the Disney font was sorta ok to use on my blog (too tacky?) but it's also the day that we went to DISNEY'S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS. I have to be honest about this- I was kinda bummed out that we were going to Hollywood Studio's and not MGM but once I got my trusty Florida Welcome Center map I realized that Hollywood Studio's IS MGM! Hah! Not sure when the name change happened but it totally did and things have only gotten better since the last time I was here. We left the condo around 8:00 this morning and didn't get back until 7:00 tonight so I am super tired! I did not, however, want to go to sleep tonight (and the Magic Kingdom tomorrow) without at least writing a little bit about the day. Things start to run together after a couple of really amazing days surrounded by food and cartoon characters. So, I thought a short list of awesome things with some accompanying photos that are equally awesome would do the trick but grammar police, be kind... I'm so tired and do not plan on proofreading this thing. Here we go....

The characters are everywhere! They have little stations where you can visit and take pictures with them. They're dancing in the parades. They're walking around the park! It's awesome! I definitely have a tiny obsession with the people dressed as some of my favorite characters and luckily I have a 4 year old with me so I can just act like I'm excited FOR HIM... not just excited because I'm a loser. I can't believe I'm going to admit this but today I saw goofy (who knows Mickey Mouse which is who I'm really obsessed with) and I got so excited that I started to tear up. Totally lame, I know.
Check these pics out...

So, this place has got some amazing rides!! My two favorites were The Tower of Terror which is a free-fall ride based on a haunted elevator and the Aerosmith Roller Coaster which takes off with the force of an F-14 but even the childrens rides were awesome! There is a new Toy Story ride here that's interactive and you shoot these little balls (not real but the glasses you wear makes them look like they're there) at targets... ummm... I'm not doing it justice. Sounds dumb when I describe the fake balls and the fake targets but it is AMAZING! Kids these days are so lucky. When I was a kid we had to throw real balls at real targets. Anywhoo... here are some pics of the rides and also our glasses.

I'm losing steam so... yeah... you can just have some pictures with this one. If I'm this excited about things related to Mickey, can you imagine how I'm going to feel tomorrow at the Magic Kingdom? Oh, snap!

I'd like to think that Kodak is everywhere in Hollywood Studios because Disney and Kodak have this wonderful working relationship where they encourage each other and help each other succeed but what's probably going on is that Kodak paid $1,000,000 to have their branding plastered all over the entire park. Whatever. I like Disney and I like Kodak so it works for me. Here are a few of the many, many shots that I took of Kodak stuff.

Well, that's it! I hope you all enjoyed my Hollywood Studios pics. I've got that watery, burning eye thing going on so I'm headed straight to bed. Goodnight, precious friends! Jb
