Happy Birthday, friend!

Photobucket

I met Melinda in the darkroom a few years ago and I can remember thinking that she was super cool as soon as we were introduced. Not only is she beautiful, smart, and funny but she's kindhearted and SO talented. After the house fire she was one of the first people to help us get back on our feet with clothes and household goods that she had collected from her friends. I was so touched by the way she immediately came to our rescue... I think she would have given me the clothes she was wearing if I'd needed them. In addition to being a lifesaver, Melinda is also an amazing photographer (see here) and was recently featured in Charleston's Under the Radar show. Her work was incredible!! I loved standing around her photographs and listening to all of the nice things people had to say. I was so proud of her!! Since moving to Sumter I have really missed dinner dates with M. We used to go out to eat and stay for hours just talking. She is a wonderfully supportive friend and someone that I can always count on to listen and help with any life problems. I only hope that I can be as supportive to her as she has always been to me. The hardest part about moving to a new town is leaving behind the people you love and for me, Melinda is one of these people. We have been keeping in touch over e-mail (when I can get online) but it just isn't the same. We keep talking about having a Sumter reunion and I hope it happens quick! I miss her so much!

Happy birthday, Melinda! You are one of the best people I have ever known. It is an honor to be your friend and I'm so thankful to have you in my life.
